The Art of Porcelain Painting by Guo Jun Yu
Guo Jun Yu 虞国钧 was born in 1956 in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, China. Under the influence of his grandmother, Mr Yu loves antiques, Chinese painting, and calligraphy. In his 20s, Mr Yu was tutored by Mr. Yanshao Lu 陆俨少, a prominent Chinese painter, which has kindled his passion for art throughout his lifetime.
Mr Yu arrived in Sydney, Australia in 1989. He has since run a motor vehicle parts company, with offices gradually established in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. He has also run a successful business in property development in his 50s.
Mr Yu has continued to enjoy his hobbies of making potteries and painting on porcelains, with more time to spend on them after his retirement. Mr Pusheng Zhang 张浦生 and Mr Yunpeng Huang 黄云鹏 have kindly been his prime instructors. Their professional and experienced skills have taken Mr Yu’s love for pottery making to a higher level. Please enjoy some of Mr Yu’s artwork here.
